Day 216

For our last session of Brewing Equipment, it was all review, as Gordo Slater ran through the highlights of the semester that will likely find their way onto the final exam:

  • electrical motors
  • pumps, pumps, and perhaps a few more ?*&%$! pumps
  • BTU calculations
  • various types of sensors and other inputs needed for automated systems
  • troubleshooting brewing and packaging systems when presented with data that had varied over time–increased current draw from a pump coupled with a longer filtering time, for instance.

And so, it has come to this: we must gird ourselves for the final exam next week… perhaps by drinking a beer and contemplating its brewing history.
